David Martin - Founder & Chief Investment Officer
David Martin is MFM’s Chief Investment Officer, responsible for all trading decisions and portfolio management. David founded MFM in 2013 after a multi-decade derivatives trading career as a proprietary trader and market maker at the New York Board of Trade and the New York Mercantile Exchange. David has traded across futures markets, with particular focus on relative-value futures and options strategies based on probabilistic, statistical and fundamental inputs, and expressed through proprietary trade structures.
David started his career at Cooper Neff & Associates, an elite quantitative derivatives trading firm, where David traded the firm’s proprietary capital.
David holds a B.S. in Economics from The Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania where he majored in Decision Sciences and Information Technology.
Devesh Saksena - Chief Operating Officer & Chief Financial Officer
Devesh Saksena is MFM’s Chief Operating Officer, Chief Financial Officer and Chief Compliance Officer, responsible for business development, legal and compliance, finance, operations, technology and infrastructure. Dev has over 18 years of experience across hedge funds, investment management, investment banking and public accounting.
Dev joined MFM from Bank of America Merrill Lynch in New York, where he was a Managing Director in Merrill Lynch’s multi-billion dollar Alternative Investments group within the Global Wealth & Investment Management division. Prior to BAML, Dev was Chief Operating Officer at Dicken Commodities Inc., a large, US-based commodities hedge fund. Dev also worked as an allocator to hedge funds for several years at NewFinance Capital (part of Schroders plc) in New York and London, as Director of North American Business, and later as Head of Operational Due Diligence. Prior to that, Dev worked at Goldman Sachs in London and Tokyo across a range of roles. Dev is a UK-qualified Chartered Accountant with several years of public accounting experience with PricewaterhouseCoopers in Bermuda and Arthur Andersen in the UK. Dev holds a BA (Hons) in Industrial Economics from the University of Nottingham, UK, and is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants in England & Wales, UK.
Dr. Ting Wang - Director of Research
Dr. Ting Wang is MFM’s Director of Research, responsible for investment research and quantitative analysis. Ting has over 10 years of industry experience and focuses on researching and developing trading strategies, testing investment ideas and providing market risk oversight for the MFM portfolio.
Ting joins MFM from Clinton Group in New York, a multi-strategy hedge fund where he initiated futures research and trading programs across global futures markets including equity indices, fixed income, currencies and commodities. Prior to Clinton, Ting was Head of Research at Gresham Investment Management’s NTA (Near-Term Active) Group for many years, a multi-billion dollar investment manager focused on futures markets. At Gresham, Ting was responsible for the development of a broad range of futures trading strategies and for portfolio risk management within the NTA Group. Prior to Gresham, Ting worked in academia, specializing in Theoretical Physics at Florida State University and the University of Michigan. Ting holds a Ph.D. in Physics from the University of Michigan and a BS in Physics from Peking University, China.
Lindsey Kasnick – Vice President
Lindsey has over 9 years of industry experience and covers a range of business-related areas as Vice President, including operations, accounting and finance, infrastructure, compliance and legal, and investor relations.
Lindsey joins MFM from Cardinal Point Capital, a high yield focused hedge fund in San Francisco, where she was the Chief Compliance Officer and Director of Operations, overseeing all non-portfolio management functions. Prior to Cardinal Point, Lindsey was Operations Manager at Bocage Capital, a $1BN commodity-focused global macro hedge fund also in San Francisco. Before joining Bocage, Lindsey worked at JP Morgan, in Prime Brokerage, as primary client coverage for a range of clients on the West Coast. Lindsey began her career in compliance with Partner Fund Management and then as an Operations Associate with Seasons Capital, both in San Francisco. Lindsey holds a Bachelors of Arts in History and Communication from the University of California at Davis.
